योजना के बारे में
A centrally sponsored scholarship scheme by Ministry of Tribal Affairs for students from scheduled tribes, for pursuing education in Class 9th and 10th. Scholarships are paid @ ₹ 225/- per month for Day Scholars and @ ₹ 525/- per month for Hostellers, for a period of 10 months in a year.
OBJECTIVESTo support ST children studying in classes 9th and 10th so that the incidence of dropout, especially in transition from elementary to secondary stage is minimized, and ST students can have a better chance of progressing to the post-matric stage of education.
SCOPEScholarship under the Scheme will be available to ST students for studies in India and will be directly transferred to the account of the student. The scholarship will be awarded by the Government of the State/Union Territory to which the applicant belongs as per the terms of domicile decided by the State/UT.

- The disability as defined under the Act has to be certified by a competent medical authority of the State Govt./UT Administration. The provisions of disability allowance will also apply to leprosy-cured and students having sickle cell anemia or Thalassemia, with the necessary certificate.
- Duration of the Scholarship:
- The scholarship will be payable for 10 months in an academic year. Additional Disability Allowance will be paid for all twelve months. Renewal of the Scholarship:
- The award once made will continue subject to good conduct and regularity in attendance. It will be renewed for Class X after the student passes class IX.
कौन आवेदन कर सकता है
- The applicant student should belong to the Scheduled Tribe, so specified in relation to the State/Union Territory to which he/she actually belongs (Domicile State).
- The student should be studying in a Government School or in a School recognized by the Government or a Central/State Board of Secondary Education.
- The family income of the student from all sources should not exceed ₹ 2,50,000 per annum. The student should have a valid account in a Scheduled Bank, linked with Aadhaar and mobile number. The student should not be getting any other scholarship.
- Scholarships for studying in any class will be available for only one year. If a student has to repeat a class, he/she would not get a scholarship for the same class twice. The student can renew the scholarship for the next class when he/she is promoted.

Online
State Governments/UT Administration will make all efforts to open the portal for inviting applications by 1 April. The applicant should submit/upload the completed application to the prescribed authority before the last date prescribed for receipt of applications. The following timeline is suggested for opening, and closing of the portal, verification of student and Institute, and disbursal of scholarship. Keep ready the soft copies of the required documents.

Go to http://www.scholarships.gov.in/. and click "New Registration”. Guidelines for Registration will appear. Scroll to the bottom. Read carefully the undertaking. Accept the Terms. Click "Continue”.

A Registration Form will appear. (The fields marked as * are compulsory)Fill in the details and click "Register”. Your Application ID and password will be displayed. The same will also be sent as an SMS to your registered mobile number.

Go to https://scholarships.gov.in/fresh/newstd RegfrmInstruction Click on "Login to Apply”. Enter your Application ID and password. Type the Captcha and click "Login”. On the next screen, provide the OTP received on your registered mobile number. You will be directed to the Password Reset screen. Create a new password and confirm. Click "Submit”. You will be directed to the "Applicant's Dashboard”.

On the left pane, click "Application Form”. The fields marked as * are compulsory. Fill in the details and upload the documents. You can either click on "Save as Draft” to complete the application later. Else, click "Final Submit” to submit the application.

Is The Scheme Open For All Candidates Enrolled In India?
It is open for all candidates of ST students enrolled in India only and will be awarded by the Government of State/Union Territory to which the applicant belongs i.e. where he is domiciled.
Is There Any Annual Income Ceiling For Candidates To Be Included Under The Scheme?
Yes, only those candidates whose annual family income is less than or equal to ₹ 2,50,000 per annum are covered under the ambit of the scheme.Are Students Enrolled In Govt./
Private/ (Not Funded By Either Central Or State Government) Eligible To Apply?
Yes, The scheme is applicable to students who should be regular, full-time student studying in Govt./Private Schools recognized by Govt. or a Central / State Board of Secondary Education.
Are Only The Students Studying Classes IX And X Are Covered Under The Ambit Of The Scheme?
The scholarship will be awarded only in classes IX and X as per guidelines of the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government of India.
How Will Payments Be Regulated?
The school in which the students are studying will verify the credential of the candidate on the National Scholarship Portal (NSP portal).
Can The Awardees Claim Any Other Scholarship (State/ Institute Or Other Ministry) During The Tenure Of The Award Of This Scholarship?
No, such students will not be considered for the award of this scholarship.
By When Shall The Scholarship Become Payable?
The scholarship will become payable after the student has secured admission and has started attending the classes.
Is There A Validity To The Scheme Benefits?
The benefits are provided till the complete duration of the course.
What Would Be The Mode Of Payment Of The Scholarship?
The payment of the scholarship will be through DBT.
Is There Any Application Fee?
No. The entire application process is completely free of cost.
Do I Need To Complete The Application In One Sitting?
No. You can save the application as draft and continue at a later time before the deadline.
