योजना के बारे में
A scholarship scheme by the Ministry of Minority Affairs for students from minority communities pursuing technical and professional courses at undergraduate and postgraduate levels in a listed institute.
The scholarship will be awarded to the students who have secured not less than 50% marks (or equivalent grade) in the previous final examination and the annual income of their parents/guardian from all sources does not exceed Rs. 2.50 lakh.
The scheme aims to encourage parents from minority communities to lighten their financial burden on education and sustain their efforts to support their children to complete their education. The scheme will form the foundation for their educational attainment and provide a level playing field in the competitive employment arena.
A total of 60,000 scholarships are targeted to be distributed as 'Fresh' Scholarships, besides, Renewal scholarships.
लाभ
- Course Fee - Rs. 20,000/- per annum subject to actuals whichever is less (for both Hosteller & Day Scholar).
- Monthly Maintenance Allowance (for 10 months in an academic year) - Rs. 1,000/- for Hosteller; Rs. 500/- for Day Scholar.
- Scholarship for listed institutes - Full course fee is reimbursed for the listed Institutes.
कौन आवेदन कर सकता है
- The applicant must be a student.
- The applicant must be from a Minority Community.
- The applicant must be pursuing a technical or professional course at the undergraduate or postgraduate level. The applicant must have secured not less than 50% marks (or equivalent grade) in the previous final examination.
- The annual income of parents/guardians of the applicant (from all sources): Less than or equal to ₹ 2.5 Lakh per Annum.
कौन आवेदन नहीं कर सकता
- If a student violates school discipline or any other terms and conditions of the scholarship, the scholarship may be suspended or canceled.
- The student availing any other scholarship out of all the available Scholarships of Central Government meant for SC/ST/OBC/minority.
- If a student is found to have obtained a scholarship by false statement, his/her scholarship will be canceled forthwith and the amount of the scholarship paid will be recovered by the concerned State/UT Govt.
- The student obtaining benefits under this scheme shall not be allowed to avail of benefits under any other scheme for this purpose.
- Scholarships will not be given to more than two students from a family.

Keep ready the soft copies of the required documents. Go to http://www.scholarships.gov.in/. and click "New Registration”. Guidelines for Registration will appear. Scroll to the bottom. Read carefully the undertaking. Accept the Terms. Click "Continue”.

A Registration Form will appear. (The fields marked as * are compulsory)Fill the details and click "Register”. Your Application ID and password will be displayed. The same will also be sent as an SMS on your registered mobile number.

Go to https://scholarships.gov.in/fresh/newstd RegfrmInstruction Click on "Login to Apply”. Enter your Application ID and password. Type the Captcha and click "Login”. On the next screen, provide the OTP received on your registered mobile number. You will be directed to the Password Reset screen. Create a new password and confirm. Click "Submit”. You will be directed to the "Applicant's Dashboard”.

On the left pane, click "Application Form”. The fields marked as * are compulsory. Fill the details and upload the documents. You can either click on "Save as Draft” to complete the application later. Else, click "Final Submit” to submit the application.

What if there are more than one student with equal marks for the last available slot?
In such cases, preference will be given to the student with lower family income.
Will I be eligible for the scholarship if I fail to get promoted to the next semester?
No. The scholarship will be terminated in that case.
Is there a percentage of slots reserved for girl students?
Yes, 30% of the total slots are reserved for girl students.
Can I apply offline for the scholarship?
No. You need to visit https://scholarships.gov.in/ to apply.
Is there any application fee?
No. The entire application process is completely free of cost.Will the scholarship also be paid for the period of internship / housemanship in the M.B.B.S. course?No. The scholarship won't be provided for that period.
By when shall the scholarship become payable?
The scholarship will become payable after the student has secured admission and has started attending the classes.
Is there a validity to the scholarship?
The scholarship will be provided till the complete duration of the course.
What would be the mode of payment of the scholarship?
The payment of the scholarship will be through DBT.
Do I need to complete the application in one sitting?
No. You can save the application as draft and continue at a later time before the deadline.
How do I track the status of my application?
You can check the same anytime by visiting the Applicant Dashboard and clicking "Track Status” in the left pane.
What should be the type and size of the documents to be uploaded?
The format should be.pdf or .jpeg. The size of each document should not be greater than 200 kb.
In what cases a Bonafide Certificate from the institute is needed?
It is needed if the institute is located in a State/UT different from domicile State/UT of the applicant.
